How backlink monitoring works

1

CDX/CommonCrawl discovery

Muginai queries the CommonCrawl CDX index to find all URLs across the open web that link to your domain. This runs weekly and catches referring domains that paid tools miss due to crawl frequency limits.

2

Live link verification

Every known backlink gets a daily HTTP HEAD check. Links returning 404, 301 chains to unrelated content, or missing your anchor URL are marked as lost and trigger a Telegram alert.

3

Toxicity scoring

Each referring domain is scored against a set of spam signals: thin content, suspicious TLD (.xyz, .click clusters), excessive outbound links, and link farm patterns. High-toxicity links are flagged for disavow review.

4

Anchor text distribution analysis

Muginai tracks the ratio of branded, exact-match, partial-match, and generic anchors across your backlink profile. Over-optimization is flagged before it becomes a manual action risk.

5

New and lost backlinks feed

A real-time feed shows all newly discovered referring domains and recently lost links. Each entry shows the source URL, anchor text, link type (dofollow/nofollow), and domain authority signal.

What you get in the Backlinks panel

📥

New link feed

All newly discovered backlinks ranked by estimated domain authority. Know when you earn a strong link immediately.

📤

Lost link feed

Links that disappeared since the last check, with the last confirmed date. Prioritize recovery outreach for high-value losses.

☠️

Toxic link queue

Flagged domains queued for disavow review. Export the disavow file directly from the panel.

🔤

Anchor text breakdown

Pie chart and table showing your anchor type distribution. Branded vs. exact-match vs. generic — keep the ratio safe.

Frequently asked questions

How does Muginai find backlinks?

Muginai queries the CDX/CommonCrawl index and multiple public link indexes to discover domains linking to your site. New referring domains are detected without requiring third-party API credits.

How often are backlinks verified?

All known backlinks are re-verified daily. A live HTTP check confirms each link is still present and returning a 200 status. Lost links trigger a Telegram alert immediately.

What is toxic backlink detection?

Muginai scores each referring domain for spam signals: low content quality, suspicious TLD patterns, link farm indicators, and high outbound link density. Links above the toxicity threshold are flagged for disavow review.

Does Muginai do outreach to acquire backlinks?

Yes — via the Outreach Automation module (Pro and Agency plans). Muginai discovers link prospects from competitor backlink gaps, sends personalized email sequences, detects replies, and branches follow-ups automatically. New links acquired through campaigns are automatically cross-referenced with your active outreach campaigns and appear in your backlink table.
